What is Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Hormone replacement therapy helps women cope with the hormonal changes their bodies undergo as they age. When women go through perimenopause/menopause, women’s bodies produce fewer hormones, which can lead to everything from a reduced interest in sex to an increased risk of osteoporosis. Hormone replacement therapy alleviates some of these aspects of aging by supplementing the body’s naturally produced hormones with additional hormones.

Who Can Benefit from Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Since hormone replacement therapy is usually used to provide supplemental hormones to women who are going through or have gone through menopause, middle-aged and elderly women usually benefit the most from it. While the treatment’s usually most helpful for middle-aged and elderly women, women of any age are welcome to ask their provider about the treatment options that may be suitable for them.

How Long Do Women Undergo Hormone Therapy Treatments Last For?
How long hormone therapy lasts depends on what the therapy is being used for. In some cases, supplemental hormones may be needed just for a short time during menopause. In other cases, they’re needed on an ongoing basis to reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Before starting a treatment, your provider will talk with patients to identify their concerns and draft a plan that will meet their needs. At this point in time, patients will know how long their therapy will last.

Initial Consultation will last about 60-90 minutes. You will meet with a certified midlife coach and your provider to discuss your unique needs and plan.
